1. Who these terms are with

This website is published and operated by Brain Focus of Longueuil, Québec, Canada (“the Publisher”), the developer of the Android application Brain Focus Productivity Timer. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using it.

2. What this website is

It is an informational site about one Android application: what it does, how to set it up, what it costs, what permissions it needs and how to get support. It is documentation, not a shop and not a distribution channel.

The site does not sell anything, does not take payment, does not host an installable file and does not require an account. Every install button links to the application’s listing on Google Play, which is the only place the Publisher distributes it.

3. The app and this website

Both are published by the Publisher, and they are nonetheless governed by different documents:

Anything to do with the transaction — payment, billing, refunds, purchase history, restoring a purchase on a new device — is handled by Google Play under its terms and refund policy. The Publisher has no ability to process a payment or a refund through this website.

4. Acceptable use

You may read these pages, print them, and link to them. You may not:

  • copy the text or layout to publish a site that imitates this one or the application;
  • present yourself as the Publisher, or as an authorised distributor, reseller or support channel for the application;
  • redistribute the application, or offer an installable file of it, anywhere other than Google Play — any such file did not come from the Publisher, and its contents cannot be vouched for;
  • install or configure the application on another person’s device in order to restrict, monitor or record what that person does, without their knowledge and consent. The application is a tool for the person using it on their own device; it is neither designed nor suitable for supervising someone else, and using it that way may break the law where you are;
  • interfere with the site: scraping in a way that burdens the server, probing it for vulnerabilities, or attempting to gain access to anything not publicly served.

5. Intellectual property and trademarks

The text, layout, code and design of this website belong to the Publisher, as do the application and its name and icon. Nothing here grants a licence to reuse them beyond ordinary reading and linking.

Android, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. The Publisher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC, and references to Google Play describe the distribution platform rather than implying any relationship beyond that of a developer publishing an application on it. Screenshots show the application as published on Google Play. Any other product or company name that appears belongs to its respective owner and is used descriptively.

“Pomodoro Technique” refers to a widely known time-management method. Its use on this site is descriptive, to say what the timer does, and implies no affiliation with or endorsement by the originator of the method or any holder of rights in the term.

6. Price and advertising

The application is free to install from Google Play. It is funded by advertising displayed inside the app — the Play listing carries a Contains ads badge — and it offers optional in-app purchases, which the listing prices at $0.99–$10.00 per item and which the developer describes as removing ads and adding widgets, more than three categories, CSV export and backup.

These are one-off purchases rather than a subscription. Prices quoted on this site are indicative and taken from the Play listing at the time of writing; the price shown in Google Play at the moment of purchase, in your own currency, is the one that applies. This website is not itself monetised: it carries no advertising and no affiliate arrangement.

7. Accuracy of what is published here

These pages are kept accurate as far as is reasonably possible, but software and the platform under it change. Screens get renamed, Android changes what an application is permitted to do, and figures such as install counts and ratings move daily. Where this site and the Google Play listing disagree, the listing is authoritative.

Four things are stated deliberately and should not be read as promises to the contrary:

  • The application times and records work sessions. It does not by itself improve productivity, concentration, memory or any other faculty, and no measurable improvement of any kind is claimed.
  • It is not a medical device and not a treatment, diagnosis or management tool for any condition. Nothing on this site is health advice.
  • Application blocking is a deliberate speed bump, not a lock. A session can be ended at any time, and nothing it does persists after the app is removed.
  • The application was last updated in June 2020. It remains published and installable, but features that depend on what Android permits — notably changing the sound profile and switching Wi‑Fi off — may not take effect on newer devices, and no warranty is given that they will.

This site links to Google Play, to Google support documentation and to the privacy policy of the application. Those destinations are outside this site’s control and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. A link is not an endorsement of anything else that may appear on the destination.

9. Disclaimer and liability

This website and its content are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. The Publisher does not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, arising from use of this website or reliance on information published on it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and for fraud. Where you deal as a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Liability in connection with the application is governed separately, by the Google Play Terms of Service and by the licence under which the application is supplied.

10. Availability and changes

The site may be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time, and these terms may be updated. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using the site.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec, Canada, and the courts of Québec, Canada have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, nor of the right to bring proceedings there where local law provides it.
