Short version: Brain Focus is a session timer and time log for Android, it has been on Google Play since 2015, it is free with advertising and an optional Pro purchase, and this website is run by the people who publish it.
The app
Brain Focus Productivity Timer runs work sessions on a timer — the Pomodoro technique, the 52/17 split, or durations you set yourself — and logs each one against a task, so the statistics screen can show where a week actually went. Around that sit the options that make a session hold: blocking chosen applications, muting the phone and dropping the Wi‑Fi connection until the break.
It has been published on Google Play since June 2015 and requires Android 9.0 or later. At the time of writing the listing shows more than a million installs and a 4.5 rating from around 14,600 ratings. Those numbers move, and the listing is always the authoritative version of them.
The honest bit: what state the app is in
It would be easy to leave this out, so it is going near the top instead. The Play listing shows the last update in June 2020. Brain Focus is a finished tool, not one in active development.
What that does and does not mean:
- It still works. The timer, the tasks, the statistics and the app blocking do what this site describes, and a million-plus installs and a 4.5 rating are not the profile of something broken.
- No new features are coming. If something you need is missing, it will stay missing.
- Some parts depend on what Android allows. The options that change the sound profile or switch Wi‑Fi off were written against an older Android, and later releases restricted both. On a recent phone those two may not take effect. The FAQ and the guide both say so.
- Check compatibility before you commit. Google Play checks your specific device and says whether the app is compatible before you install. Take it at its word.
Who publishes it
The app and this website are published by Brain Focus, an independent Android developer based in Longueuil, Québec, Canada.
Google verifies the identity and contact details of Play developers and publishes what it verified in the About the developer block on every listing. For this app that block is on the Play listing, alongside the registered name and postal address. This site carries the publishing name, the city and a working email rather than repeating the whole record — nothing is hidden, and the verified version is one click away.
How the app is funded
- Advertising. The free version shows ads inside the app — the Play listing carries a Contains ads badge. That advertising is also where the analytics and the approximate-location collection in the data safety declaration come from, rather than from the timer.
- An optional Pro purchase. The listing carries an In-app purchases badge, priced by Play at $0.99–$10.00 per item, covering the removal of ads, widgets, more than three categories, CSV export and backup. One-off purchases, not a subscription.
There is no paid tier of this website and no payment taken anywhere on it. The only transaction that exists happens on Google Play.
What this website is for
A store listing gives you a few hundred words and a row of screenshots. It has no room to explain what app blocking can and cannot do, why a timer asks for approximate location, what the data safety declaration actually means for someone installing the app, or what the state of a five-year-old release is. That is what these pages are for.
What the site deliberately does not do:
- It does not host the app or offer an APK. Google Play is the only install route, and every download button here links there.
- It does not take payments, collect registrations or run a login.
- It does not publish invented reviews, awards or testimonials.
- It does not claim any affiliation with Google. Android, Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC.
- It does not make claims about productivity, concentration or health that a timer cannot support.
